About Us

Tate's Design has a legacy of expertise. Their knowledge, experience and longevity produce satisfied clients.


Tate's Design was inspired by the Tate Furniture Company, founded by our father, George Tate, in 1946. He taught us through his business and personal philosophy, to stay committed to treating our clients fairly, and always working hard to achieve their goals. We enjoy getting to know each client on a personal level and as a result, we are able to create a beautiful living or working environment that exceeds their expectations. We are a professional and fun company to work with, and our dedication to our clients is an essential part of our business.

Susan Tate

Susan has been an interior designer for more than 35 years, as well as a professional member of the Interior Design Society. She graduated from Winthrop University with a degree in Interior Design.

With Susan's broad knowledge of furniture styles and her strong color sense, she feels comfortable helping clients with any look they desire - from traditional to eclectic or European, specializing in all types of window treatments and accessories. Her goal is to help her clients create a feeling in their home or office that reflects their personality and lifestyle.

Susan feels that each project is like a puzzle with many parts that need to be selected to fit together to create the end result that leaves the client saying, "Wow! This is exactly what I wanted."

JoBeth Tate

JoBeth is a graduate of Winthrop University and has been decorating homes and offices in the area for more than 35 years. She is gifted with visualization skills that enable her to immediately transform a room whether using her client's existing furniture or suggesting new purchases.

JoBeth excels at merging or down-sizing spaces and she is happy working with "hands-on" or turnkey clients. Her attention to detail helps her clients with the many decisions that need to be made throughout the design stages.

As a licensed realtor and homestager, JoBeth has worked on spaces of all shapes, sizes and budgets. She understands the importance of using balance and scale to give every home or office project a functional, comfortable and beautiful design.

We offer custom draperies in any size, shape, color, or style. Arrange for an in-home consultation and we'll do all the measuring while you choose from a vast selection of styles, colors, and fabrics.
